Humiliation Discussion at The Extreme Fetish

Tonight I went to a discussion on Humiliation between dominants and submissives at the Extreme Fetish. This discussion was to show that those who willingly and sanely partake of this activity are not engaging or abusing another person, but to show how pleasure and pride are a great aspect of this play.
I had never given thought to humiliation before, I looked at it as if I were to approach it in everyday life. Not as a scene, not as part of play, but as I would in everyday life. To hear a Dominant say that for him it is a way to show his pride in his submissive. Torquedom3 lead this discussion and he made a very clear point between humility and humiliation. He spoke in depth about the difference of humility and humiliation and how the show of humility is not about humiliating another person as most would see it.
He spoke about the difference between the honorable Dominant and the power seeking so called Dominants. The ones to who engage in humiliation to make another person ashamed and to tear away their self esteem, and the Dominants who do this so that they can also build the esteem of the submissive.
I loved how many questions were asked and I saw an attempt to answer each question fully and completely. The interaction of everyone that was there was incredible, it felt that no one had any fear of asking their questions nor did they seem afraid of the answer. At one point someone said that they were confused and they were asked to tell where and how they were confused. After doing so there was care taken and the explanation continued until the person who was confused understood.
I pride myself on having an open mind to a vast amount of things and on educating myself on things I don't know or understand. I learned a great deal from this discussion, my eyes and mind were opened a great deal more than before. I would like to say thank you to everyone who was there and took part in this discussion, everyone taught me something new, another topic to study and better educate myself on.

ACES at ROSE

Tonight I attended a class at ROSE (Realm of Skills and Education) taught by Miss JeZeBeLe Dagger. She taught a class on building a Shamans Hand Rattle. This class was taught on the beginners level and she took as much time as was needed for each of the students without leaving the rest of the class waiting for extended periods of time. It is a well-known fact among Miss Jeze's students that anytime any of them have trouble with building in or out of class she is willing to help them either after class or she will schedule a time with them for one on one instruction to help them understand the build process and complete projects. During this class there was just the opportunity for us to experience and see firsthand hoe far she is willing to go and her commitment to helping her students and new builders alike succeed. She explain in detail what the features in the edit menu is for as they are used in each class and she demonstrates how they affect the build. Miss Jeze will create example demo's when she feels that they will help to give a better visual example of what happens with certain features in the edit menu.
For me, I found the class quite relaxing and stimulating. Thank you Miss Jeze for allowing me to observe and participate in your class.

Quest for more

Over the past 3 days I have went to several different types of classes that were posted on the ACES network. I went to classes I had knowlege of what they were about and classes I had little or no knowledge of. I went to readings and discussions as well. I decided that I wanted to learn more about all of the opportunities and resources available to the members of ACES. I was hesitant of one book reading presented from one of the schools in the network, but I am glad I went. I also attended a wonderful build class at ROSE and one at Bonanza, a discussion group, and a psychology lecture with a discussion that followed. I am not always able to attend all of the classes posted on the ACES network and there are times when more than one class is held at the same time, but I do try to attend as many as possible. I have decided that I will try and attend at least one class a day, if possible, and post my thoughts and opinions on those classes here. Hopefully, I will see some of you there, maybe peak your curiosity so that you might find and quench that thirst for more knowledge.

ACES: Who We Are and What We Do

ACES (Adult Community Education Society) seek to expand and enhance knowledge, appreciation, and respect for the ADULT Community in Second Life.

We accomplish this by sharing our own knowledge and enthusiasm with those who are honestly and respectfully seeking the same through sponsorship, leadership or participation in educational opportunities such as lectures, seminars, presentations or discussions in SL focused on ADULT education regardless of SIM or group affiliation.

ACES seeks to build a better quality SL ADULT Community.

Founded by JeZeBeLe Dagger, Jovial Denimore, and Rory Glenwalker on December 6, 2009 with the common goal of providing a symbiotic foundation between different schools, SIMs and educators on SL in an attempt to allow residents to feel welcomed and encouraged to visit different classes on different SIMs with different educators.

There are currently over 10 schools on various SIMs and over 25 educators teaching everything from A to Z. We have lectures, discussions, build classes, and special events just to begin to name a few of the ways we encompass and embrace education in SL.
